Museo Trans-Unto - (TRANS-UNTO MUSEUM)
A 100 sq.m installation involving a daily performance since 1994
Inaugurated 15th August 1994
Lorenzo Pizzanelli
«The Trans-Unto Museum is a inhabited museum-flat that juxataposes the everyday domestic life against indifference, without the Guide (the director of the Museum) it does not exist.
The objects, the traces on the walls, its life are transfigured by the attributions the Director points out to the tourists or guests of the “magic site” who would otherwise be unaware of them.
The concepts alluded to are “social, artistic, anthropological”, as it combines observations on historical avant-garde movements as well as on the transformation of everything, even the avant-garde movements into museum material.
For the masses in modern society, everything is art and we are all artists, with all the devaluation and transubstantiation that this involves.
The shaman (mentioned by Beuys) is replaced by the Tourist Guide, the only person capable of showing the enchanted and indoctrinated viewer, who has been made passive by contemporary media bombardment,
what is or is not art.»
